Funeral services for Joe Dan Orr, age 73, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Tommy Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Dennis Jordan, Mack Phillips, Tracy Littrell, Gary Lewis, Mark Warren and Brian Orr serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Trent Orr, Chance Orr, Sean Orr and Wendell Claxton. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Joe Dan Orr passed away, Tuesday night, June 19, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Posey, on January 5, 1939, the son of Robert Dillard Orr and Maude Lee (Campbell) Orr. He married Paula Minty; she survives. He was a retired maintenance worker for the Texas Highway Department and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Other survivors include: daughter, Tracy Smith and husband, Steve of Sulphur Springs; son, Kenny Orr and wife, Jessica, of Katy; three sisters, Bobbie Pinson of Seagoville, Sue Coke of Garland and Judy Gates of Kaufman; brother, Billy Wayne Orr and wife, Kay, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Trent Orr and wife Charis and Chance Orr, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
