Allen Brackett

Funeral services for Allen Brackett, age 63, of Yantis, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010, with Rev. Al Davis and and Rev. David Hamm officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Parker Memorial Cemetery in Grapevine. Randal McDaniel, Don McDonald, Travis Patridge, J.R. Pilson, Colby Parker, and Cruz Medina will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Parker, Tom Noble, David Halmark, Steve Money, Rick Russell, and George Hines. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Allen Brackett passed away at his residence, Friday afternoon, July 16, 2010. He was born in Durant, OK on August 18, 1946, the son of H.A. and Lonita Mize Brackett. He married Barbara Alline Gilbert in Ft. Worth on October 23, 1969. She survives. He worked as a sales manager and was a deacon at Grace Family Church.
Other survivors include: daughters, Toni Edwards, of Austin, and Pat Dowdy, of Watauga; son, Allen Brackett Jr., of Gilbert, AZ; brother, James Brackett, of Grapevine; grandchildren, Todd Dowdy, Daniel Taylor, Stacy Lytle, Jordan Brackett, Josh Dowdy, and Lindsey Brackett; great-grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Taylor Dowdy, Justin Lytle, Nicole Dowdy, Jake Lytle, and Jessie Lytle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Michael Taylor, and one brother.
