Artemis Foster

Funeral services will be conducted for Artemis ‘AR" Foster, age 99, of Sulphur Springs, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Jerry Burchfield, Rick Burchfield, Duke Huston, David Huston, Jim Savage, Michael Savage, Blake Whitley and Mike Drudge serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Deaton, and the Joy Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (1:00 p.m.)
Artemis "AR" Foster passed away at Hopkins House Saturday morning, April 23, 2011. He was born in Como on July 14, 1911, the son of Hugh Foster and Dollie (Burchfield) Foster and he was raised in Yantis. He married Alwyn Dysart Savage. She preceded him in death in 2003. Mr. Foster was retired from Pittman Grain Elevator Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: stepson, Cortland Savage & wife, Jan, of Sulphur Springs; stepdaughter, Sue Huston & husband Sid of Arlington and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by son, Leon Foster, in 1947; stepson, Keith Savage, in 2004 and stepdad, C.V. "Shug" Robinson, in 1974.
