Funeral service for Aurora Vielma, age 74, of Lewisville, Texas, will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 18th at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas, with Mike Colbert officiating and Jacob Cobler, Aiven Vielma, Andy Mendoza, Gabriel Mendoza Jr., Manual Mendoza Jr., Kevin Mendoza, and Johnny Castillo Jr. serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Vielma passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian in Flower Mound, Texas, on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Service will be livestreamed on the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home website.
Aurora was born on August 9, 1951, in Waelder, Texas, to Ysidro Mendoza and Josephine Martinez. She married her first husband, Leonel Vielma, in 1967 and had three children, Lauren, Dino, and Elvis. After the death of her first husband, Aurora later remarried Johnny Castillo in Lewisville, Texas, on April 7, 2007. Aurora was an avid gardener and loved sitting outside, either in her garden or near the lake. She was also an amazing cook and enjoyed feeding her grandchildren, who often contacted her requesting breakfast or dinner. Aurora was of the Christian faith and was a frequent attendee of Valley Creek Church in Flower Mound, Texas.
Aurora is survived by her husband, Johnny Castillo of Lewisvillie, Texas; daughter, Lauren Vielma (Shane) of Lewisville, Texas; son, Elvis Vielma (Candace) of Argyle, Texas; granddaughters, Megan Cobler of Lewisville, Texas, Abriel Vielma of Argyle, Texas; grandsons, Jacob Cobler of Lewisville, Texas, Aiven Vielma of Argyle, Texas; half-brother, Antonio Mendoza; brothers, Ysidro Mendoza Jr. of Farmers Branch, Texas, Manual Mendoza of Lubbock, Texas, Rudy Mendoza of Schulenburg, Texas; sisters, Delores Salas of Farmers Branch, Texas, Gloria Ramirez of Carrollton, Texas, and Sylvia Gabler of Schulenburg, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonel Vielma, son, Dino Vielma; brothers, Gabriel Mendoza, Joe Mendoza; and sister, Delma Orosco.
