Ben Dickson

A funeral Service for Ben Dickson, age 60 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Davis Street Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Comer and Rev. Ty Musser officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park with Norman Colyer, Robert Stidham, Harlan Hammond, Sheriff Butch Adams, Joe Chenault, Gordon Fulcher, Kerry Roy, Monty Tipps and Chief Jim Bayuk serving as pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Sulphur Springs Police Department, Sulphur Springs city hall employees, and City of Sulphur Springs Municipal Court employees. Visitation will be held 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Ben Dickson passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Sulphur Springs on June 2, 1953, the son of Truman and Frances Ellen Lawson Dickson. He married Jeannie Beth Hooker in Sulphur Springs on December 3, 1983. He was a Lieutenant with the Sulphur Springs Police Department, where he served the people for over 31 years. He was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include: wife, Jeannie Dickson of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Darla Pettit and husband, Sam of Sulphur Springs; son, Derek Dickson and wife, Taylor of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Trenton Dickson, Benjamin Jace Dickson, and Baby Boy Pettit; aunt, Johnnie Lou Waggoner and cousins, Bill Waggoner and Chris Waggoner.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
