Listen to Obituary

Graveside service for Betty Alberts Immel, age 80, of Prosper, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Nelta Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Moss officiating. Mrs. Immel passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Betty Immel was born on July 25, 1945, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to the late Eldon Haskell and Rowena (Moss) Alberts. She married Larry Immel on August 1, 1969, in Dallas, Texas.

Betty graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1963. The same year, she was named Miss Flame of Sulphur Springs. She worked at Helena Chemical in Memphis, TN, as an accounts receivable clerk and retired in 1995. Betty then began her largest and most accomplished job of helping to raise her grandchildren. All her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Betty will always be remembered for her larger-than-life smile. She could certainly light up a room. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love for people was genuine and without reserve.

Betty is survived by her husband, Larry Immel; daughter, Donna Lightfoot and husband Frank; son, Larry Immel and wife Brande; grandchildren, Trey Lightfoot, Bailey Lightfoot, Lexi Lightfoot, Kaleb Lightfoot, Parker Immel, and Brooks Immel; three great-grandchildren, and her sisters Virginia Alberts and Mary Glenn.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
