Bill Roundtree

A funeral service for Bill Roundtree, age 72, of the Greenpond Community will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Verne Hawkins and Gary Roundtree officiating. A military graveside service, under the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow at Greenpond Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Roundtree, Gary Roundtree, John Paul Roundtree, Bill Alexander, Keith Schuler, George Crowley and Daniel "Boone" Lowrie. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Dodd, Jerry Dodd and Anson Lowrie. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Bill Roundtree passed away at his residence Tuesday morning, October 23, 2012. He was born in Commerce on January 27, 1940, the son of Lawrence Wheeler Roundtree and Clysta Grace (Alexander) Roundtree. He married Jackie White Dodd in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on April 6, 2011; she survives. He was a commercial construction superintendent and he was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Air Force.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Donna Lynn Pearce Thursby and husband, William, of Cedar Hill and Amy Liggett of Pennsylvania; grandchildren,
Sage Liggett, Jacob Liggett, Jessica Wooldridge, Stephen Hotz, Michael Hotz and great-granddaughter, Jaylin Hope Carpenter. He was preceded in death by daughter, Diana Gail Hotz; sister, Jeanine Lowrie and four brothers, Luie Vernon Roundtree, Roy William Roundtree, Billie Wallace Roundtree and Paul Olan Roundtree.
