Funeral services for Bobbie Gene Coleman, age 79, of Bagwell, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Shedd officiating. A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow at Clifton Cemetery in Rains County. Pallbearers will be Eric Toles, Tony Rhodes, John Swindell, Robert Coleman, Justin Bass, and Johnny Hawley. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Bobbie Gene Coleman passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Rains County, on October 31, 1930, the son of Robert Stevens Coleman and Cora Virgie (Hines) Coleman. He married Dorothy Humphus. She preceded him in death. Mr. Coleman was a retired kiln foreman for A.P. Green Brick Plant. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: daughter, Emma Cook and husband, Larry, of Bagwell; two sisters, Opal Penny of Terrell and Maurietta Rhodes of Avinger. He was preceded in death by son, Bobbie Gene Coleman, Jr., two brothers, Joe and Clifford Coleman; one infant brother and two sisters, Willie Mae Patterson and Dorothy Faye Burns.
