Curtis Buchanan

Funeral services for Curtis Lee Buchanan, age 66 of Sulphur Springs , will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2010, with Rev. Hoyt Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery, with Stephen Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell, Chad Bolton, Adam Yarbro, James Buchanan and Otis Calhoun serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Civic Center Staff. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Curtis Lee Buchanan passed away Thursday night, December 9, 2010, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Delta County on September 24, 1944, the son of J. C. Buchanan and Audry (James) Buchanan. He married Linda Ann Mitchell in Hopkins County on January 3, 1967; she survives. Mr. Buchanan was the assistant manager at Hopkins County Civic Center and he was in the dairy business for over 20 years. He was a Member of New Sherley Baptist Church and he served in the United States National Guard.

Other survivors include: daughter, Stephanie Lynn Buchanan of Sulphur Springs; sister, Kathy Yarbro; brother James Buchanan, both of Cumby.

He was preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Buchanan.
