Darrell Wilks

Graveside service for Darrell Wilks, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Gafford Chapel Cemetery of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Darrell Gene Wilks passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at his residence.

Darrell Wilks was born on September 11, 1942, in Eloy, Arizona, to Woodrow Wilson and Ethel (Jordan) Wilks. He married Trina Rae Espinoza on September 11, 1987, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He worked for the City of Sulphur Springs for 36 years, and during his free time loved playing dominos and a nice cup of coffee.

Wilks is survived by his wife, Trina Wilks; children, Tony Wilks (Charlie) and Teresia Hines (Kennith); step-children, Jacob Humphrey and Jason Hansen; grandchildren, Kourtney Hines, Brittany Clayton (Kolby), Taylor Wilks, and Clayton Wilks; great-grandchildren, Kennadi, Kennzli, Presley, and Brecken; brother, Frankie Wilks; sisters, Mary Cheshier (Mike) and Laura McQueen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Ethel Wilks; sisters, Ruby Paulette Wilks and Edna Blount; and brothers, William Wilks and Coy “Tom” Wilks.
