Dave Gholson, age 81, of Yantis, Texas, peacefully passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
Dave Gholson was born on November 25, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Charles and Ruby (Starks) Gholson. He married Linda (Stephens) Leonard in Grand Prairie, Texas, on November 25, 2017. Dave proudly served in the United States Army as a helicopter gunner and helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. In recognition of his service, he earned numerous military honors, including the Vietnam Service Medal, Air Medal, Rifle Expert Badge, and Marksman Badge. Following his military service, Dave spent his working years as a dedicated truck driver. Outside of work, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies and passions. He was an avid bowler with an impressive 225 average and spent many happy hours on the lanes. He also loved bass fishing and treasured the time he spent on the water pursuing his favorite catch. Dave will be remembered for his dedication, strong work ethic, and the enthusiasm he brought to the activities he loved.
Dave is survived by his wife, Linda Leonard Gholson of Yantis, Texas; son, Mack Gholson; daughter, Rene Gholson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Michael Gholson.
