Dennis Brian Maxfield

Graveside service for Dennis Brian Maxfield, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at North Hopkins Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Gravens officiating and the Adult 4 Sunday School Class and the Friday Morning Men’s Prayer Group serving as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Maxfield passed away at Christus Mother Frances on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Dennis was born on March 9, 1950, in Longview, Texas, to the late Parker and Maxine (Wells) Maxfield. He married Sally (Deaton) Maxfield at First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on July 31, 2008. Dennis graduated from Pine Tree High School and later attended Kilgore College, where he enjoyed playing baseball. He was a dairyman from 1974 to 1992 when he went to work for Weatherford–Trico in Greenville. He retired as a supervisor in 2019. He had a genuine love for people and a deep desire to share the Gospel with those around him. His faith was evident in the way he lived his life and cared for others. He regularly visited the nursing home and faithfully read the Bible to Uncle Don Deaton. Dennis found joy in the simple things in life, including gardening, tinkering, and making things with his hands. He especially cherished the fellowship and friendship he shared with Gene White and the men of the Friday Morning Men’s Prayer Group, where he enjoyed gathering in faith and fellowship. Above all, Dennis was a loving and devoted husband and a good Christian man. His love for his family, his kindness toward others, and his steadfast faith were the hallmarks of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, laughter, friendship, and service that will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Maxfield of Sulphur Springs, Texas; step-daughters, Amber Clifton and husband Kevin of Carrollton, Texas, Jolie Clifton Turner and husband Brandon of Conroe, Texas; brother, David Maxfield of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Todd Anderson of Conroe, Texas, Bella Turner of Conroe, Texas, Brylie Turner of Conroe, Texas; and sister-in-laws, Deana Goggans of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Janie Logan and husband Delbert of Sulphur Springs, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Matthew Maxfield on May 7, 2004.
