Donna Hooten

Memorial service for Donna Hooten, age 74, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Buddy Wiggins officiating. Mrs. Hooten passed away at Carriage House Manor on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Donna Hooten was born on December 26, 1951, in Jacksboro, Texas, to the late Cleveland and Betty Jean (Cook) Hatley. She married William Don “Bill” Hooten in Sulphur Springs on December 10, 1973. Donna and her husband dedicated many years to operating their dairy farm, a labor of love they continued until 1992. Following that chapter, she spent 25 years working at Walmart. Above all, Donna cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life.

Donna Hooten is survived by her son, Cleveland Hooten and wife Missy of Quitman, Texas; daughters, Mary Galindo and husband Rick of Garland, Texas, and Stephenie Hooten of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Jessie Hooten, Christina, Dana Shelton, Ashley Shaffer, Jason Hooten, Alaina Owens, Justin Hooten, Carlos Galindo, Baylee Daehn, and Dalton Hoover; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Martin and husband James and Tresia Hooten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Eddie Hooten; and daughters, Tammy Shelton, and Karen Hooten.
