Funeral services for Dorothy Bybee, 84, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011, with Shane Carrington and Malcolm King officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Kevin Keen, John B. Dykema, Matthew Conger, Aaron Conger, Joshua Sayles and Micah Sayles serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Charles Jones. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Dorothy Bybee passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Carriage House Manor. She was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 21, 1926, the daughter of Ira Penland and Mary C. (Truitt) Penland. She married Charles Edwin Bybee in Wichita Falls on July 16, 1966; he survives. She was a retired bookkeeper for B.R.B. Drywall. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bobby Bybee and wife, Ruthie, of Ft. Worth, Ira Nolan Drury and wife, Gail, of Dallas; daughter, Deleon Bowman and husband, Don of Moore, Oklahoma; two sisters, Elsie Cross and husband, Richard, of Garland, Irene Dykema and husband, John, of Belton; brother, Steve Penland and wife, Betty, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Jason Bybee, Bobby Bybee, Jr. and Michael Wesley; great-grandchildren, Emilee Vaughn, Erin Bybee, Brynlee Bybee and Aiden Bybee. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Penland and Buck Penland. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer society.
