Graveside Funeral Services for Dorothy Monroe, age 83, of Bullard, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Hans Wakeman officiating. Visitation will be 4pm till 7pm, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dorothy Sue Monroe passed away early Friday, March 18, 2011 at her residence. She was born on September 13, 1927 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Henry and Sudie (Conner) Anderson. She married Angus Eugene Monroe. He preceded her in death in 1974. Dorothy retired from Southwestern Bell as a Comptroller. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include: son, Grant Monroe and wife, Darlene of Bullard; daughter, Anita Monroe of Texarkana; brothers, Arlon Anderson of Sulphur Springs and Kenneth Anderson of Brashear; grandchildren, Sudie Monroe, Lavoynne Tackett, and Melanie Monroe; great-grandchildren, Kyle Karitis and Skye Karitis.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
