Dorothy Stangler

Funeral services for Dorothy Caroline Stangler, age 86, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at Spence Chapel of First Baptist Church. Bro. Fred Lewis will officiate.

Interment will follow services in the City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Hintz, Jeremy Hintz, Bradley Wilson, Grady Cashion, Jerry Haney, Gene White, and Tommy Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shepherding 3 Bible Class at First Baptist Church and Mark and Carol Miller.

Visitation will one hour prior to services, in Spence Chapel.

Dorothy Stangler passed away on Saturday morning, January 12, 2008, at Hopkins House, in Sulphur Springs. She was born in Scarville, Iowa, on October 30, 1921, the daughter of Albert and Lena Goring Schaper. She married Ralph Stangler, in Mason City, Iowa, on July 6, 1939. He survives.

Mrs. Stangler was a retired steno-clerk for Chicago Northwest Railroad. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Sandra Klein and husband Bob, of Yantis; grandchildren, Angela Hintz of Plano, and Bradley Wilson, of St. Paul, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Matthew, and Savana Hintz, all of Plano; a sister, Betty Leigh of Osakis, Minnesota; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice at Memorial, c/o Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
