Funeral services for Dr. Laurene "Laurie" Van Camp Fausett, age 67, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at St. Sava Orthodox Church in Allen, at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010, with Rev. Seraphim Hipsh officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Restlawn Memorial Park. An evening service will be at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at St. Sava Orthodox Church in Allen.

Laurene Van Camp Fausett passed away at her residence, Sunday evening, April 18, 2010. She was born in Sacramento, California on March 2, 1943, the daughter of Channing Van Camp and Muriel (Carpenter) Van Camp. She married Donald Wright Fausett in Laramie, Wyoming on July 30, 1982. Dr. Fausett was a math professor at Texas A & M University in Commerce. She previously was a math professor at Georgia Southern University, University of South Carolina Aiken, and Florida Institute of Technology. She received an AB in math education from the University of California at Berkeley in 1964, an MST in physics from the University of Wyoming in Laramie in 1975 and a Ph.D. in math from the University of Wyoming in 1984. She was a member of St. Sava Orthodox Church. She was also a member of the Math Association of America, Society for Industrial and Applied Math, and The American Association of University Women.

Survivors include: husband, Don Fausett of Sulphur Springs ; three daughters, Beverly Baird, of Sulphur Springs, Jennifer Gorham of Wyoming, Savannah Barnes of Montana; son, Ben Fausett of Wyoming; mother, Muriel Van Camp of California; two brothers, Gary Van Camp of Arizona and Warren Van Camp of California; and grandchildren, Veronika Baird, Naomi and Amber Gorham, and Annabella and Landry Fausett. She was preceded in death by her father.
