Dr. Worsham

A memorial service for Dr. Joe G. Worsham will be held at First United Methodist Church (301 Church St., Sulphur Springs, TX 75482) on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
There will be an open microphone for remarks and memories by friends and family. Catering will be provided by Coffee Off the Square immediately following the service. Dr. Joe Grant Worsham, age 71, of Sulphur Springs, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. He was born in Sulphur Springs on May 13, 1942, the only child of Joe Horace Worsham and Flora Matt Grant Worsham. Joe attended school in Sulphur Springs, graduating in 1960. After high school, Joe attended college at the University of Texas in Austin for one year and then transferred to and graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton. After college, Joe obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Worsham practiced as a dentist in the Dallas area for many years but, after his marriage to Jan in 1981, moved his dental practice home to Sulphur Springs where he continued to practice until health issues forced him to retire in 2012. Survivors include his much beloved son & light of his life, Matthew Worsham; former wife and forever best friend, Jan Worsham; his aunt, Edna Earl Grant, cousins Jackie Grant & wife Deanna, Bill Grant & wife Susie, Gerry Grant & wife Myra, Jeff Massey & wife Prissy, James (Jimmy) Worsham & wife Virginia, Kathy Worsham Reeves and husband Wayne, all of Sulphur Springs; Lou Ann Stare & husband Peter of Dallas and Andrea Massey of Dallas, Carol Flo Steed and husband Chris of Houston; close life-long friends Warren Brewer and Linda Bennett, Tom Green, Ene & Kay Ashcroft and dear friends Jimmy Thomas and Kathy Shadwell, all of Sulphur Springs as well as many friends and former patients, too numerous to mention, who were still in touch with & cared deeply for him.
