Edna Marie Walker

Graveside service for Edna Marie Walker, age 91, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Mrs. Walker passed away at Rock Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on Monday, September 21, 2026.

Edna Marie Walker was born on August 29, 1935, in Old Tira, Texas, to the late Robert and Theecy (Griffith) Fennell. She married the late Willard Walker in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on July 21, 1956. Edna graduated from North Hopkins High School in 1953. She dedicated many years to serving others through her work at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, where she remained until her retirement in 2017. Music was a lifelong part of Edna’s life, and she took great joy in playing the piano throughout the years. She was a faithful member of North Liberty Baptist Church, where her faith and love for others were an important part of her life.

Edna is survived by her caretaker, Sharon Gilbreath of Yantis, Texas; nephews, Chris Fennell of Hurst, Texas, Ken Fennell of Hurst, Texas, and Ricky Smith of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Robert Francis Fennell.
