Elsa Madrigal

Graveside services for Elsa Madrigal, age 68, of Cumby, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Miller Grove Cemetery, with Raymond Delgado officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Simon Martinez, Jose Madrigal, Gonzalo Escandon, Luis Escandon, Daniel Tavarez, and Joshua Angel Escandon. Mrs. Madrigal passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital of Sulphur Springs, Texas, on Friday, December 24, 2025.

Elsa Madrigal was born on February 25, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Angel Del Toro and Augustina Cortez. She married Jose Cruz Madrigal Carrazco in January 1987 in Dallas, Texas. She was retired and devoted her life to caring for her family, finding her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Elsa was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She had a way of making those around her feel cared for and welcomed, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to every gathering. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Cruz Madrigal Carrazco of Cumby, Texas; her daughter, Brittney Martinez; her sons, Luis Enrique Escandon, Gonzalo Escandon, and Angel Escandon; her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Cisneros, Jeremiah Cisneros, Gonzalo Escandon Jr., Christina Maria Escandon, Daniel Dimarcus Tavarez, Joshua Angel Escandon, Joseph Enrique Escandon, and Isabelle Marie Escandon; and three great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Elsa was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Maria Hernandez; and her brother, Ramiro Del Toro.
