Funeral services for Farrar Parnell, Jr., age 68, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2010, with Brother Shannon Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Dakota Jones, Blake Parnell, Michael Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Todd Parnell and Colten English serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tye Sartin, Joe Bennett and Darrin Dickens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Farrar Parnell, Jr. passed away Thursday afternoon, October 21, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on September 23, 1942, the son of Farrar "Buddy" Parnell and Kaytreen (Coppedge) Parnell. He married Betty
Flanery at Cumby on November 24, 1962; she survives. Mr. Parnell was a salesman in the automotive industry and he was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Tobie Parnell of Bellevue, Washington and Lisa English of Royse City; son, Pete Parnell of Sulphur Springs; five sisters, Kay Francis Parnell of Lubbock, Saundra Grayson, Neena Boswell, both of Sulphur Springs, Glenda Barnett of Yantis and Kathy Colley of Tawakoni; brother, Cletus Brown of Cumby; grandchildren, Justin Grimes, Jessica Grimes, Whitney Wall, Michael Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Blake Parnell, Colten English, Taylor English, Dakota Jones, Rowdy Parnell, Kahmeron Parnell and Farrar Parnell and great-grandchildren, Ella Farrar Grimes and Addisyn Wall. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
