Funeral services for Frank Ward, age 79, of Quinlan, formerly of Sulphur Bluff, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010, with Rev. Roger Ratliff and Rev. Kenneth Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, with John Ward, Billy Hatchell, Donny Godfrey, Billy Joe Dorner, Joe Elmore and Jerry Sandlin serving as pallbearers.
Frank Ward passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at Hunt County Regional Medical Center. He was born in Sulphur Bluff on February 9, 1931, the son of Gus Ward and Lillian (Tillery) Ward. He married Edith Lynn Buster in Sulphur Bluff on March 26, 1950; she survives. Mr. Ward was the retired owner of Ward Lawn Enterprises and a member of Vansickle Baptist Church in Greenville. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Other survivors include: son, Greg Ward and wife Shawna of Heath; brother Dewey Ward of Deport; four sisters, Donna Nelson of Quinlan, Ruby Smith of Canton, Hazel Brumley of Tyler and Erma Hill and husband, Kenneth, of Ennis and grandchildren, Jilleighann and fiancé, Garrett Perkins and Jordan Ward. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis Ward, Johnny Ward, Joe Ward and J. C. Ward and two sisters, Hattie Thomas and Anna Mae Hatchell.
