Gary Don Petrea

Funeral service for Gary Don Petrea, age 59 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Jacob Petrea, David Petrea, Karen Ross, Teresa Warren, Herman Morris Jr, Hayden Ross, and Aaron Petrea will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Petrea passed away on November 29, 2025 at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

Gary was born on April 11, 1966 in Cooper, Texas to Roy and Barbara (Mosley) Petrea. He married Renee Campbell. Gary worked as a dairy farmer for 18 years. After that he worked for Reed’s Scrap Metal for the last 10 years. Gary was a very good mechanic and liked fixing things. He loved animals and watching westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Renee; sons, Jeremy Campbell, Gegory Petrea, and Kevin Murdock; daughters, Alicia Petrea, Teresa Warren and Gaila Murdock; fourteen grandchildren; brothers, Roger Petrea, David Petrea, and Rodney Petrea Sr; sisters, Karen Ross and Sandra Vanwey.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debra Petrea, and brothers, Jerry Herring and Michael Petrea.
