Graveside service for Gearl Goodson, age 75, 0f Dike, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Tira Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Wheat officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Goodson passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Dike, Texas.
William Gearl Goodson was born on February 11, 1943 in Mt. Vernon, TX, the son of William Ernest and Jessie Mae Goodson. He married Shirley Posey in Mt. Vernon on November 4, 1961. Gearl was the manager of a ranch and a Deacon of Independence Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Brenda White and husband, Jimmy, Sharon Wright and husband, Timothy, Jr.; sons, Earl Goodson and wife, Ruby, David Goodson and wife, Vickie; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Hillis and Martha Rutledge.
Gearl was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeannie Hargrave; brothers, J.E. Goodson, Glenn Goodson.
