Gerald Helton

Family-led memorial service for Gerald Helton, age 75, of Yantis, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Full Gospel House of Prayer with Annie Wagner officiating. Mr. Helton passed away on Monday, July 28, 2026.

Gerald Helton was born on July 23, 1951, in Electra, Texas, to the late Charles and Helen (Alexander) Helton. He married Sharron (Crofford) Helton in Garland, Texas, on July 4, 1970. Gerald worked as a carpenter and for the City of Garland, where he took pride in his craftsmanship and dedication to his work. Outside of his career, he found great joy in treasure hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He cherished the adventure of exploring new places, the peace of time spent on the water, and the excitement of discovering hidden treasures. His love of the outdoors and adventurous spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Sharron Helton; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Helton; and nieces, Brittani Crofford and Starla Ray-Rose Hanson.
