Funeral services for Gladys Eppars, age 94, of Como, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2008, at the Trinity Harvest Church of God. Pastor Ray Evers will officiate.
Interment will follow services in the Connor Cemetery, with Donnie Eppars, Steve Eppars, Dennis Eppars, Rocky Eppar, Jay Eppars, and Rick Harrison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nurses and Aids with Texas Senior Care, and the staff of Cypress Basin Hospice.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eppars passed away on Thursday morning, April 10, 2008, at her residence, where for the last nine years she had made her home. She was born in Saltillo, TX, on November 5, 1913, the daughter of John Edward and Sarah Ellen Coston Young. Mrs. Eppars married E.A. "Buck" Eppars, on May 26, 1932, in Hugo, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1986.
Mrs. Eppars was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and prayer warrior for everyone. She was a member of Trinity Harvest Church of God.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Janellen & Milburn "Catfish" Hettich, of Como; one son and daughter-in-law, Gaylon and Reba Eppars, of Joshua, TX; one sister, Opal Richardson of Sulphur Springs; ten grandchildren, Donnie Eppars, Steve Eppars, Dennis Eppars, Suzanne Harrison, Sheri Holmes, Rocky Eppars, Meredith Rule, Darla Finol, and Courtney Eppars; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Amy Middleton, Angie Harred, Misty Abron, Jennifer Ricketson, Brook Harrison, Jay Holmes, Zane Eppars, Chance Eppars, Brandy Sharp, Reese Eppars, Garry Rule, Tyler Eppars, Brittany Sharp, Kevin Rule, Josh Hampton, Jalie Eppars, Sarah Coston Rule, Matthew Eppars, Jon Connor Rule, Vinson Finol, Jocelyn Finol, Brennan Harred, and Reed Ballard; six great-great grandchildren, Jordan Harred, Alyssa Abron, Kira Middleton, Ivy Sky Eppars, Lennon Middleton, and Shelbi Ricketson; special friend, Donn Eshell Matthews, Linda Owens, Glenda Harris, Melody Brantley, Violet Hettich, Nell Carpenter and Sonoma Shoffitt.
