A funeral service for Gleen Dell Martin, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Spence Chapel, First Baptist Church, at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, with Rev. Fred Lewis, Rev. Tommy Johnston and Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Posey Cemetery, with Tom Massey, Danny Evans, Weldon Glossup, Gregg Price, Jamie Brice, Jerry Freeman, Justin Freeman and Patrick LeMoine serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will the The Joy Class and the kitchen staff at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Gleen Dell Martin passed away Monday evening, March 3, 2014, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born in Hopkins County December 25, 1924, the daughter of John Kelley and Era Farris Kelley. She married Douglas Lynn Martin in Sulphur Springs April 13, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: daughter, Mary Boles and husband Jackie of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Jackie Boles, Jr. and wife Britnee, Kelli Boles and Shaunda Knight and husband Joe; great-grandchildren, Natalie Lynn Perry, Jacie Kaye Boles, Mattie Lynn Boles, Jodi Stoneberg and husband Ben and Brian Virgel and great-great-grandchild, Makenna Stoneberg. She was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters and great-grandson, Matthew Virgel. Memorials may be made to the Matthew Virgel Scholarship Fund, 401 Division Street, Greenville, Texas 75403 and/ or The Radio Bible Class at First Baptist Church.
