Glenda “Gigi” Sue Dawdy, 63, of Caddo Mills, Texas, lived a life full of love, faith, and selfless devotion to her family. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with her loved ones by her side.
Glenda was born on July 13, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late George and Geraldine (Parker) Green. She married George Anderson “Sonny” Dawdy III on January 16, 1993. She was a devoted member of the League Street Church of Christ, where her faith continued to grow throughout her life.
Glenda was the heart of her family. A loving wife to Sonny, proud mother to Ashley Polley, and the most devoted “Gigi” to Pyper, Paisley, Hagen, and Georgia. Her grandbabies were her world. They kept her busy, filled her life with laughter, and she loved being Gigi more than anything. She was the most selfless woman you could ever meet. Her heart was big, her faith was strong, and her kitchen was always open. She loved cooking meals that brought everyone together and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. She was always there — no matter the time, no matter the need. Her love showed up in the everyday moments, in the sacrifices no one else saw, and in the steady presence her family could always count on. There wasn’t a person she met that she didn’t make smile. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and important.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Sonny Dawdy of Caddo Mills; daughter, Ashley Polley and husband Austin of Caddo Mills; grandchildren, Pyper, Paisley, Hagen, and Georgia; mother-in-law, Barbara Ann Dawdy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Geraldine Green; brother, Gregory Wayne Green; and father-in-law, George Dawdy, Jr.
Family was her greatest treasure, and she loved them with her whole heart. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will live on in all of us.
