Helena Ivery

Funeral services for Helena Clayton Ivery, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Morning Chapel Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2009. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Helena Clayton Ivery passed away at her residence Tuesday Morning, August 18, 2009. She was born on October 4, 1929 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Eula Clayton and Mary (Thomas) Clayton. She attended Douglas High School. She married Grover Ivery, Sr. in 1948. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Survivors include: two daughters, Belinda Ivery and LaQuida Johnson, both of Sulphur Springs; three sons, Grover Ivery, Jr. of Arlington, Stewart Ivery of Sulphur Springs and Howard Ivery of Beeville, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and sister, Mary Crook of Dallas. She was preceded in death by daughter, Wanda R. Ivery Hawkins; five brothers, Prozell, Ray, Golie, Pearl and Vernell and two sisters, Irene Clayton and Grace Clayton.
