Hilda (Holder) Ballard

Hilda (Holder) Ballard, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away at her residence on Saturday, May 23, 2026. No formal services are being held per her request.

Hilda was born on July 23, 1946, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Roy Evans and Nadine (Anderson) Holder. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. She then attended North Texas University followed by a short career at United Steel. Hilda married Captain Gary Jones and they moved to Panama, where Gary was stationed.

June 25, 1993, Hilda married David Ballard. Hilda’s hobbies included watching golf and dancing with David.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jason Evans Jones; stepdaughter, Sharon Ballard Smith; stepsons, Dennis Ballard and Brad Ballard. Numerous cousins; best friends, Cathey Williams, Gail Broyles, Linda Bennett, Shannon McCorkle, Amy Smith, and many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nadine Holder, Captain Gary Jones, and husband, David Ballard.
