JF Monroe Cooksey Jr. "J", age 79, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away at Sunny Springs Nursing & Rehab in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Cooksey will be held at a later date.

JF Monroe Cooksey Jr. was born on January 21, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to the late JF Monroe Cooksey Sr. and Clara Mae Moore. He married the late Nina Ruth (Hoover) Cooksey in Sulphur Springs, Texas. J was a hardworking farm worker and a man of strong Pentecostal faith.

J is survived by his sons, Jody Cooksey, Ed Camp; brothers, Jerry Cooksey, John David Cooksy; and sister; JoAnn Yanez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Danny Cooksey, and Allen Wayne Keim.
