Funeral services for J. C. Littrell, age 80, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Central Baptist Church, at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, with Rev. Kenneth Rhoades and Rev. Bruce Stinson officiating. A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow at Emblem Cemetery, with Nihl Bulkley, III, Phillip Dalton, Jeremy Dalton, Adam Dalton, Jacob Littrell and John Yow serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Murphy, Ray Calhoun, Bobby Plunk, Tommy Moore, Bob Perdue, Loren Carter and Bob Johnson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
J. C. Littrell passed away at his residence Tuesday afternoon, June 21, 2011. He was born in the Emblem Community on November 25, 1930, the son of Jesse Calvin Littrell and Lillie (Thurman) Littrell. He married Susie Coffman in Sulphur Springs on September 30, 1948; she survives. Mr. Littrell was the retired owner of Southern Machine Shop and a member of Central Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Judy Woolsey and husband, Richard, of Sulphur Springs and Barbara Bulkley and husband, Nihl Bulkley, II, of Forney; son, Randall Littrell and wife, Sherri, of Sulphur Springs; brother, Don Littrell and wife, Jayne, of Saltillo; grandchildren, Shannah Walker and husband, Charlie, Mallorie Reynolds, Phillip Dalton and wife, Karen, Jeremy Dalton, Adam Dalton and wife, Carrie, Nihl Bulkley, III, and wife, Monica; Heather Juarez and husband, Oswaldo, Hannah Yow and husband, John and Jacob Littrell ; great-grandchildren, Baylee Hooten, Colby Cameron, Brittney Pennington, Kaine Dalton, Allison Dalton, Nihl Bulkley, IV, Bryant Bulkley, J. C. Bulkley, Russell Bulkley, Wally Juarez, David Juarez, Carolyn Juarez and Eric Juarez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Mable Patterson, Della Prendiville, Billie Ruth Coffman, Mary Green and Thelma Kirtley and three brothers, Robert Littrell, Jesse Littrell and J. D. Littrell.
Memorials may be made to the Missions Program at Central Baptist Church.
