Jacqueline Faye Patten McElroy, age 80, of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away at Capstone Healthcare of Daingerfield on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Jacqueline Faye Patten McElroy was born on April 18, 1946, in Alexander City, Alabama, to the late Theodore and Pauline (Taylor) Patten. She married Maurice McElroy in Stephenville, Texas, on December 10, 1987. Jacqueline devoted her life to caring for others, proudly serving her community as a licensed practical nurse. Through decades of dedication, she became a steady source of comfort, skill, and compassion for countless patients and families. Her career was built on relationships, selflessness, and an unwavering perseverance that guided her through every challenge and every long shift. She approached her work with a strong sense of purpose, always putting the well-being of others first. Colleagues knew her as dependable and kind; patients remembered her gentle presence and reassuring words. Jacqueline’s commitment to service left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. After many years of devoted care, she retired having touched more lives than she ever realized. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she helped, those she worked beside, and those who loved her. Her strength, compassion, and work ethic will continue to inspire all who carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice McElroy, father Theodore Patten; mother Pauline (Taylor) Patten; daughters Linda Gilbert Meadows; Johnnie Faye Gilbert Byrnes.
