Jacky Allen

Graveside service for Jacky Payne Allen, age 72, of Mt. Vernon will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Keith Abron officiating and John Partain, Michael Partain, Ron Layton, Larry Gamblin, Jimmy Lewis, Pat Groves Jr. and Chris Burt serving as honorary pallbearers.  There will be no formal visitation.  Mr. Allen passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs.

Mr. Allen was born to J.P. and Eloise Allen on February 4, 1947 in Sulphur Springs, TX.  He graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in Finance.  After serving in the Air Force, Jacky returned to Sulphur Springs and worked at the Sulphur Springs State Bank.  He went back to college and obtained a teaching degree.  Jacky retired from teaching at Alba-Golden High School, where he was a math teacher.  Jacky was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved hunting and fishing and retired to his home on Lake Cypress Springs at Mt. Vernon.

He is survived by his wife, Velinda Stinson Allen; two daughters, Elizabeth Walker (Kenneth) of England and Dr. Kathryn Sickorez (Rob) of New Zealand; five grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Allen Burt of Brashear.

Jacky was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Carriage House and Legacy Hospice for the wonderful and professional care given to Jacky and the family.
