Funeral services for James Dixon, 71, of Sulphur Springs, will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. A graveside service will follow at New Hope Cemetery with Scotty Price, Chris Price, Hunter Dixon, Jim Elder, Larry Yager, and Justin Yager serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home
James Dixon passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2011 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. He was born January 27, 1940 in Sulphur Springs to Pete and Lillian (Giles) Dixon. He was a retired Dairyman and member of Rockdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Cindy Price and husband, Pete of Shirley, Tina Thompson and husband, Ronny of Pickton; son, James "Dewey" Dixon and wife, Gail of Shirley; brothers, Curtis Dixon of Sulphur Springs and Johnny Dixon of Winnsboro; sisters, Linda McKenzie of Sulphur Springs and Mattie Lou Jones of Tyler; grandchildren, Scotty Price, Chris Price, Maxie Thompson, Cortney Thompson, Mandi Elder, and Hunter Dixon; great-grandchildren, Rylee Hokett, Jaylynn Elder, Kaylee Elder, and Audrey Elder.
