James Harris

July 12, 1927 — August 14, 2020

Graveside service for James “Buster” Harris, age 93, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Nelta Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 P.M on Sunday August 16, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Harris passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at Wesley House Assisted Living in Sulphur Springs, TX.

James “Buster” Harris was born on July 12, 1927 in Gunter, TX to Thomas Jefferson and Annie Lou Harris. He married Glenda Simmons in Hugo, OK on September 22, 1951; she preceded him in death in 2019. He worked as a mechanic, dairyman, and proudly served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his children, Terry and Sherry Harris of Knox City, TX, Tony and Gloria Harris of Sulphur Bluff, Tanya and Ricky Massey of Sulphur Springs, TyJuana Pettit of Edmond, OK, Tiffany and Rick Cross of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy and Jonah Massey, Brandyn Harris and Brittney Harris Baxter, Jacob, Caleb and Matthew Harris, Jessica Kinser, Ashley Davis and Sam Pettit, Brennan and Blair Bassham and Laramie Massey; twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

James is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenda Harris; eleven brothers and sisters.
