Jean Darr

Funeral service for Jean Darr, age 85 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at First Baptist Church in the Spence Chapel with Dr. Jeff Gravens and Andy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at New Pickton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Darr passed away on February 5, 2026 at Sunny Springs Health and Rehab.

Jean was born on July 22, 1940 in Brownwood, Texas to Jimmie Stoddard and Beatrice (Gunn) Pease. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1958. Jean married Charles Lee Darr on July 4, 1959 in Odessa, Texas. She worked as a receptionist at Dr. Korn’s office for 22 years. Jean was very involved in her community. She volunteered for Terrific Tuesday as well as Relay for Life. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church where she was involved with the youth group and Sunday school classes.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Deanna Darr; son, Mitchell Darr and wife, Renea; and grandson, Lane Darr.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie; mother, Beatrice; stepfather, E.M. “Red” Pease; brother, Bruce Stoddard, and sister, Barbara George.
