Betty Jeanne Cowley was born on November 10, 1933, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Alfred Guy Edwards and Zua Estell Eversole. She traveled and lived many places with her father working for Haliburton Oil Company, she had fond memories of her first job, which she got at the age of 12, setting pins at the local bowling alley in Odessa, Texas. In the beginning of 8th grade, she moved in and was raised by her grandparents in Lawton, Oklahoma. There she attended and graduated in 1950, from Lawton High School, where she was a member of the Spanish Club, Wolverettes, Junior Play, Prom planning committee, and an office girl. Jeanne married Alphus Donald Cowley on October 29, 1951, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a long-time member of the Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma. In more recent years, she belonged to Pilgram Presbyterian Church in Vinita, Oklahoma, where she served as a deacon, played in the bell choir, and was a Cherry Red at Vinita Hospital. Jeanne was also a member of the Eastern Stars. She enjoyed attending youth rodeo, livestock shows, 4-H and FFA events, rodeo pageants, and the ballgames of all her grandchildren. Her life revolved around church and her family and all of the cherished memories that she had made with them.

Jeanne Cowley is survived by her son, Alan Cowley and wife, Chandy of Yantis, Texas; grandsons, Phillip Cowley and wife, Amy of Morrison, Oklahoma, Jeremy Cowley and wife, Courtney of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Autry Cowley of Yantis, Texas; granddaughter, Jori Cowley and fiancé, Ben Crawford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, step-mother, Maria Edwards Crotwell of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister, Carolyn Edwards of Lawton; Oklahoma; brothers, Guy Dennis Edwards and wife, Catey of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Tony Edwards of Spain; sister-in-law, Helen Cowley of Lawton, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Edwards and Zua Eversole; husband, Donald Cowley; brothers-in-law, Charles Cowley, Howard Douglas Cowley, and Mike Parker; sister, Beverly Parker; and son, Kent Dewayne Cowley.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses of Rock Creek Health and Rehabilitation and Choice Hospice.
