Jimmie Cox

Funeral services for Jimmie Cox, age 77, of Dike, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, with Rev. Charles Rawlinson officiating. Interment will follow at Peerless Cemetery, with Richard Greer, John Eakins, John Moore, Tony Kaufman, Chief Star, Don McCullum and James McKeever serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Jimmie Cox passed away Tuesday, March 1,2011 at her residence. She was born in Oakland on September 8, 1933, the daughter of Thomas Emory Peugh and Lola Mae (Garner) Peugh. She married Hollis Wayne Cox in Sulphur Springs on July 18, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2009.

Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a member of Independence Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughter, Judy Mitchell of Dike; two sons, Hollis Cox and wife, Janet, of Posey, Larry Cox and wife, Tina, of Peerless; grandchildren, Jennifer Eutzy, Richard Greer, Jessica Gandy, Johnnie Vitro, Alice Richey, Grace Cox, Stacey Godbolt and John Moore; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Durward Peugh and Lawson Ray Peugh; two sisters, Ruby Kern & Myra Morgan; daughter-in-law, Sue Cox; son-in-law, Danny Mitchell and great-grandchild, Chandler Richey.
