Funeral services for Jimmy Wayne Pipkin, 68, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2011, with Rev. Larry Baxley officiating. Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Lee Bozeman, Patrick Pipkin, Billy Huie, Jason Mobley, Cody Pipkin, Jackie Huie and David Frost serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Jimmy Wayne Pipkin passed away at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab Saturday, August 6, 2011. He was born in Weaver on August 31, 1942, the son of Chester Owen Pipkin and Lois Mildred (Woodard) Pipkin. He married Carol Jean McManus in Reilly Springs on November 15, 2002; she survives. He was a retired machinist at Rockwell International and he was a member of Reilly Springs Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: six daughters, Carolyn Taylor and husband Billy of Garland, Susan Bozeman and husband Lee, Bobbie Woodson, all of Como, Judy Smith and husband James of Cleveland, Texas, JoAnn Frost and husband David of Emory and Sherloyn Gumpert and husband Clayton of Greenville; two sons, James Pipkin and Eddie Woodson, both of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Chester Pipkin and wife Cathy of Mt. Pleasant and Donnie Pipkin and wife Paula of Pickton; grandchildren, Larry Dillion and Angel Flowers and great-grandchildren, Harmony Smith, Austin Crumpton, Avah Dillion, Arean Wood, Summer Coker and Kyle Alexander. He was preceded in death by sister, Lois Laverne Huie and brother, Billy Jack Pipkin.
