A funeral service for Jo Evelyn Smith, age 80, of Sulphur Springs was conducted at Baldwin Heights Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2013. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at Baldwin Heights Cemetery in Cullman, Alabama.
Jo Evelyn Smith passed away Thursday morning, October 24, 2013 at Carriage House manor. She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas July 7, 1933, the daughter of Judson Meins Barksdale and Desdie Mae (Sprinkle) Barksdale. She married Wilburn Smith in Jasper, Alabama. He preceded her in death in 2002. She was in the produce business.
Survivors include, brother, Dr. Jim Barksdale of Sulphur Springs.
