Joe Hoover

Funeral services for Joe Dale Hoover, age 62, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011, with Bro. Kris Childress officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Cemetery with Kent McAree, Mac Garrett, Bobby Anderson, Tommy Cooke, Cole Knight, Eddy Rabe serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Stribling, Jimmy Spinks, and Octave Woods. Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m. At Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Joe Dale Hoover passed away Saturday evening, January 1, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Sulphur Springs on February 19, 1948, the son of Joe Collin and Edith Jenett Beadles Hoover. He married Carolyn Halmontaller in Hugo, Oklahoma on September 12, 1963; she survives. Mr. Hoover was a welder and a member of Mt. Streling Church. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart.
Other survivors include: sons, Michael Dale Hoover and David Bryan Hoover, and wife, Mary Lou; daughter, Fonda Hurley, and husband, Skipper; grandchildren, Kaley and Tyler Jones, Kara Hoover, Kallie Hoover, Carla and Shawn Sears, Courtney Hoover, Colby Hoover, and Faustin Lawson; great-grandson, Cameron Sears; sisters, Linda Frew and Kay Lunsford; and his trusty sidekick, Poot. He was preceded in death by his parents and and one brother, Ronnie Hoover.
