John Rhodes

A memorial service for John Riley Rhodes, 84, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Kingdon Hall of Jehovah's Witness. Burial was held earlier at Pine Forest Cemetery.
John Riley Rhodes passed away at his residence Wednesday, September 21, 2011. He was born in Pine Forest on July 4, 1927, the son of Emmitt and Bertha Gray Rhodes. He married Earlene Tully at Pickton on December 31, 1946; she survives. He was a retired truck driver and rancher.
Other survivors include: son, John Riley Rhodes Jr., and wife, Rita, of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Barbara Smith, of Henderson; brother, Pat Wayne Rhodes, and wife, Patsy, of Sulphur Springs; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda Rhodes, and sisters, Farene Rhodes and Christine Tachell.
