Julie "Mema" Flanery

Graveside Service for Julie “Mema” Flanery, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Peerless Cemetery, Peerless, TX with Bro. Wilton McMorris officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the cemetery. Mrs. Flanery passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Julie Ann Flanery was born on February 18, 1945 in Kilgore, TX to Roland and Bertha (Woods) Crow. She married Gerald Flanery in Clarksville, TX on May 1, 1984 and together they had ten beautiful children. Julie was a private sitter, caretaker, and nurse’s aide for many years.  She loved giving her time to care for others.

She is survived by sons, Gary Shoults and wife Tricia, Troy Ewton and wife Madonna, Glen Ewton and wife Lynn, William “Will” Ewton, Russell Flanery and wife Tina; daughter, Missy Littrell and husband Melvin; nineteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.

Julie is preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Bertha Crow; husband, Gerald Flanery; a twin sister and eleven other brothers and sisters; sons, Richard Ewton, Reaford Flanery, Lewis Flanery; daughter, Carol Lynch; granddaughter, Emily Ewton and great-grandaughter, Jaydain Bailey.
