Julie "JuJu" Smith

Julie Smith was born on July 11, 1969, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to the late William Bright and Bonnie Carpenter. She married Duane Smith in Como, Texas, on February 27, 1988. Julie loved music and singing, and her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Julie was a kind and compassionate soul who would help anyone in need, always living by the Golden Rule and treating others with love, grace, and respect.

Julie is survived by her husband, Duane Smith of Winnsboro, Texas; daughters, Kori Kunkel and husband Chris of Daingerfield, Texas, Kaylee Torres and husband Alonzo of Leesburg, Texas; sons, Cody Smith of Winnsboro, Texas, Caden Smith of Winnsboro, Texas; seven grandchildren; grandmother, Nell Carpenter of Winnsboro, Texas; sisters, Carla Chitsey of Winnsboro, Texas, Misty Barton of Winnsboro, Texas, Jeana Bright of Winnsboro, Texas; and brother, Jason Bearden of Galveston, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Hardy “Pete” Carpenter; father, Bill Bright; and mother, Bonnie Carpenter.
