Funeral services for Larry Hurley, age 64, of Yantis, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2010, with Rev. Michael Coker officiating. Interment will follow at Sharp Cemetery, with Wesley Winstead, Andy Ragan, Cole Hurley, Erik Hurley, Dennis Hurley, Brian Logan, Keith Logan and Landon Logan serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilmore Edwards, Phillip Smith and Jerry Kelley. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Larry Hurley passed away Wednesday evening, September 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Yantis, on March 15, 1946, the son of S. C. "Son" Hurley and Gladys (Dowdy) Hurley. He married Linda Hill. She preceded him in death in 1988. He married Linda Ross Reed; she survives. Mr. Hurley was owner and operator of Hurley's RV Park and a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include: four sons, Reese Hurley and wife, Tonya, of Como, Quent Hurley and wife, Teri, of Sulphur Springs, Forest Hurley and wife, Carol, of Winnsboro and Shane Hurley and wife, Angelia, of Yantis; three daughters, Lila Hurley of Yantis, Randi René Burns and Jaimie Reed, both of Mineola; two brothers, Cecil Hurley of Overbrook, Oklahoma and Jack Hurley of Yantis; one sister, Linda Hurley of Yantis; grandchildren, Witney Hurley, Hayden Hurley, Bryleigh Hurley, Jake Hurley, Kaleb Hurley, Dugan Winkle, Hanna Richison, Thaddeous Richison, Lani Hurley, Callen Hurley, Kaslyn Hurley, Austin Burns, Alyssa Burns and Addison Burns and great-grandchild, Jackson Hurley. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the Sharp Cemetery Association.
