Larry Mason

A memorial service for Larry Kent Mason, 68, of Sulphur Springs will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. No formal visitation.
Larry Kent Mason passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born in Ft. Madison, IA, on September 7, 1942 the son of Jack and Ethel Epperly Mason.
He married Virginia Sue Stewart on January 10, 1964 in Childress, TX. She preceded him in death in 2008. Larry was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He also worked at Classic Lanes Bowling Center and for KSST Radio. He was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Stephanie Logsdon of Sulphur Springs, Vikki Harmon Holsmoback of Watauga, and Tammie Smith of Sulphur Springs; son, David Mason of Epsom, NH; sister, Pat Tarnanto of Detroit, MI , grandchildren, Mason, Peyton, Brayden, Kristina, Jennifer, Candace, Jason, Aimee, Robert, Matthew, and Mashari; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, son, Bobby Scott, grandchildren, Michael and Jason, and brother, Gerald Turner.
The family will have a informal gathering at Classic Lanes Bowling Center after the service from 2 till 3:30 pm, Saturday, August 13, 2011.
