Funeral services for Larry Vaughan, 65, of Brashear will be conducted at Brashear Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2011 with Rev. David Burns and Rev. Harvey Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Brashear Cemetery, with Kailob Wallace, Kaden Wallace, Dan George, Carl Smith, Sammy Gomez, Ricky Smith, Tim Smith, Rickey Vaughan, Rusty Vaughan and Ryan Vaughan serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Brashear Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Larry Vaughan passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Sulphur Springs on July 2, 1946, the son of O. H. Vaughan and Velma (Moore) Vaughan. He married Carolyn Kay Smith in Brashear on July 9, 1965; she survives. He was the owner of Vaughan Automotive and a member of Brashear Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Amy Wallace of Greenville and Kristi George and husband Dan of Westerville, Ohio; brother, Rickey Vaughan of Cumby and grandchildren, Kailob Wallace, Kaden Wallace, Emma George, Molly George and Max George. He was preceded in death by his parents.
