Lathan Wiler

Funeral services for Lathan Wiler, age 87, of Pittsburg and formerly of Hopkins County, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Cook and Rev. Tommy Earl Burton will officiate.

Interment will follow services in the Arbala Cemetery, with Andrew Foster, James Deats, David Gillette, Rance Campbell, Phillip Deats, Gregory Deats, and Brandon Gillette serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be one hour before the service, at 10:99 a.m., at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Wiler passed away on Wednesday evening, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born in Brashear, TX, on September 23, 1920, the son of Thomas Marvin and Bessie Abercrombie Wiler. He married Carrie Mae Wesson, in Quitman, Tx, on December 24, 1941. She survives.

Mr. Wiler was a retired electrical engineer, for Texas Power and Light Company. He was a member of Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church, in Pittsburg. He served in the United States Army/Air Force During WWII.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Deloros Mae Foster, of Mt. Pleasant, and Carolyn Sue Deats of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister, Mary Jo Mcclain of Bridge City; a brother, Thomas Macolm Wiler, of Quinlan; grandchildren, Carla Sue Gillette, Karen Campbell, Phillip Patrick Deats, and Gregory Wilson Deats; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Shelby Gillette, Hayley and Malory Campbell, and Ashley, Caden, and Ryan Deats.
