Lola Vickers

Funeral services for Lola Vickers, age 90, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010, with Brother Bruce Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with C. J. Davis, Gary Hall, Larry Vickers, Chris Vickers, Greg Vickers and Buddy Walker serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service (1:00 p.m.) at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Lola Vickers passed away at Brentwood Terrace Health Care and Rehab. in Paris. She was born in Brashear on November 16, 1920, the daughter of Clarence Green and Allie Olee (Cromer) Green. She married R.C. Vickers in Sulphur Springs on October 8, 1938. He preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Vickers was a retired secretary and a member of New Sherley Baptist Church.

Survivors include: son, Royce Vickers of Paris; six grandchildren, Chris Vickers, Greg Vickers, Leslie Howard, Matthew Tice, Gary Tice and Bryan Williams and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Joyce Tice; two brothers, Cecil Green and R. L. Green and two sisters, Inez Kiny and Jewell Anderson. Memorials may be made to New Sherley Baptist Church.
